I’m Theo, I’m here because a lot of disability Twitter has moved here and I need to make sure I’m informed on the sort of things that’s discussed Oh, and because Arsenal Twitter is slowly moving here

Tim Curry as Dr Frank-N-Furter was part of my Queer awakening. I cried the first time I watched him sing "Don't Dream It, Be It", and then when I rewatched the recent 4K remaster. Just such a beautiful man with a beautiful voice. variety.com/2026/film/ob...

What I love about Dolly Parton is that every lovely story that comes out, everyone just goes "Yeah, that was Dolly, of course she was lovely and supportive!" What a wonderful woman who worked 9-5 to make the world just a bit nicer in anyway she could.

I can't believe the amount of recent history revisionism in the UK. Response to Polish immigration was so severe that it successfully led to Brexit. BREXIT. And tanked British economy. This happened last decade, you can just Google it.

Post on X Remember in early 2000s thousands of Polish men immigrated over to UK cause their economy crashed but no one said fuck all cause they came to work, minded their own buisness an left our kids alone.....

Response Most Poles who emigrated to the UK in the early 2000s remember something completely different and photo of xenophobic graffiti

Naming 5 superman villains is surprising harder than I thought… Lex Luthor, Toyman, Doomsday, Braniac, Zod If you remove the 3 who’ve been in films, I’d say Mongol, Mr Mxyzptlk and Ultrahumanite. Why are Batman’s villain so much more memorable?

All of these can be true: 1. Arday was a serial fabulist. 2. He deserved to be fired. 3. He did not deserve to be hounded to death by a rabid media. 4. The people who first attacked him are far worse humans than Arday ever was. This is not confusing if you understand that reality is nuanced.

👇 Agree with this. Plenty of people successfully advance themselves while telling tall tales. Sometimes (think the comparison I RT’d with Marie Sophie Hingst was astute) they end tragically. Yet on this occasion he is continually talked about as if he had no agency and was a mere bumbler.

My thought about this is that many of the post-mortem arguments (e.g. it was Cambridge’s fault for appointing him) deny him any agency. He _did_ raise himself a long way from a disadvantaged start. He _did_ transform himself from a PE teacher into a plausible sociology of education researcher. He…

Twitter could never understand that the world wasn't made up of wholly bad baddies and wholly good goodies.Arday was a serial liar who possibly was mentally unwell, but he was a fantasist and a conman who got found out.The British press are evil cunts who hound people to the grave. Cofnas is a Nazi.

If he was white, it would have been an article or two, a few jokes on Mock The Week/HIGNFY, then it would be forgotten about only to brought up as a “remember that professor who told some ridiculous silly but fairly harmless lies haha” Instead he was bombarded and harassed until he took his own life

🔺 BREAKING: Jason Arday, the former University of Cambridge professor, has been found dead, police have said Mr Arday was pronounced dead after being found “unresponsive” at an address in Battersea, south London, on Friday afternoon Read more 👇

No, that is not the alternative The alternative was treating like a normal news story, and not a trial by media - one that was so clearly turbocharged by Arday’s ethnic and social background and the growing resentment in the establishment in the UK of having more black people in high places

The alternative to this is people lying with impunity, with the media knowingly covering it up. It's an awful story. And the media will get a lot of the blame. But those who perpetuated the lies and shielded Arday from facing up to them deserve more of it.

THIS. Ever since Gordon Brown's 'bigoted woman' it has been a totally untouchable axiom that concerns about immigration are well founded and unchallengeable. If we had a media and/ or political climate where we were able to challenge these views we might be in a better place.

I do not understand how there is such little pushback against a worldview that has radicalised white English men to riot in the streets and the state to commit institutional violence against all migrants, so little condemnation of an attitude fundamentally at odds with basic human decency
