I've heard people say Muppets Christmas Carol works because Michael Caine treats the Muppets as fellow actors, and Muppets Treasure Island works because Tim Curry treats the Muppets as fellow Muppets. I'm glad the Muppets agree.

What I love about Dolly Parton is that every lovely story that comes out, everyone just goes "Yeah, that was Dolly, of course she was lovely and supportive!" What a wonderful woman who worked 9-5 to make the world just a bit nicer in anyway she could.

AI placeholders? I'm out. AI art? I'm out. AI graphics? I'm out. AI written story? I'm out. AI voices? I'm out. It is incredibly *DISRESPECTFUL* To use GenAI for anything in video games when you could hire talented people to work on your game. It may take time but I promise you It will be worth it.

I can't believe the amount of recent history revisionism in the UK. Response to Polish immigration was so severe that it successfully led to Brexit. BREXIT. And tanked British economy. This happened last decade, you can just Google it.

All of these can be true: 1. Arday was a serial fabulist. 2. He deserved to be fired. 3. He did not deserve to be hounded to death by a rabid media. 4. The people who first attacked him are far worse humans than Arday ever was. This is not confusing if you understand that reality is nuanced.

No, that is not the alternative The alternative was treating like a normal news story, and not a trial by media - one that was so clearly turbocharged by Arday’s ethnic and social background and the growing resentment in the establishment in the UK of having more black people in high places
Terry Watkins@gerrygow.bsky.social · 2w agoThe alternative to this is people lying with impunity, with the media knowingly covering it up. It's an awful story. And the media will get a lot of the blame. But those who perpetuated the lies and shielded Arday from facing up to them deserve more of it.
THIS. Ever since Gordon Brown's 'bigoted woman' it has been a totally untouchable axiom that concerns about immigration are well founded and unchallengeable. If we had a media and/ or political climate where we were able to challenge these views we might be in a better place.
