What is up with the total dismissal of Greek ethnicity when people are discussing the Odyssey? There are several threads on here where people counter the racist & transphobes by basically saying there is no connection between Ancient Greeks & Modern Greeks! You don't have to do this!

Which means: what, exactly? The argument for the humanities as moral education has always been weak; the argument for the humanities as knowledge-producing endeavors has always been strong; and the argument for valuing disciplines based on the number of ppl who major in them has always been stupid.
