This work presents a structural breakthrough and a conceptual advance, alongside the three relevant recent Nature papers, in our understanding of cytoplamic lattices (CPLs) in mammalian oocytes. CPLs appear to store degradative complexes and poised cytoskeletal complexes to quickly shape eggs.
