This morning I took the super scenic Bosnian Railways, twice-daily Talgo service from #Sarajevo to #Mostar 🇧🇦 This unsererved seating, 2nd Class only train costs €8.70 for the 2h trip, and they still have the old ex-Renfe 1st Class seats - so board early! 🚆 #NonstopEurotrip
Fighting yet another heatwave requires some imagination for those, like us, without air-condition. I give it a try with this picture taken in January 2011. This is a narrow-gauge Chemin de Fer du #Jura🇨🇭#CJ push-pull unit, photographed at Pré-Petitjean on the Jura heights at about 1,000 metres a.s.l.
Time for a trip to Hel (literally), aboard the PKP Intercity sleeper train. I've got 12 hours in this 1980s sleeper tonight, boarding in Kraków for the long trip across Poland. I think it's going to be a comfortable and cosy night... 😊
This is a #Vienna 🇦🇹 Type E tramcar, displaying their classical red and white livery. The destination board reads #Baščaršija, which means we weren’t quite in Vienna when I took this photo one morning in September 2008. This is #Sarajevo 🇧🇦. The tram works the loop around the “Bazaar” in the old town.
This afternoon I am onboard the Snälltåget 31 service from #Oslo 🇳🇴 to #Malmö 🇸🇪 This operates using these ex-DB IC1 coaches and cost me just 399 SEK (about $41, €35) for this 6.5h trip 🚆 Unfortunately the awesome dining car is broken today! 😢 #NonstopEurotrip

#Brussels-Midi 🇧🇪 in spring 2001. This is a push-pull service for #Amsterdam 🇳🇱. The dual-voltage Class HLE11 is Belgian, able to work under 1.5kV and 3kV DC. The carriages are Dutch. The matching livery is inspired by the color schemes once used in both countries, bordeaux-red (BE) and yellow (NL).

🇮🇹 🚋🚋🚋 28 July ‘26 - A small day for railways, but a huge day for Naples’ Circumvesuviana. Years late, the first new Stadler train enters service. They replace dilapidated 1974 trains and increase fleet availability above 30%. The oldest train in Europe will become - London’s Bakerloo line!
🇸🇰🍽 Travelling through #Slovakia works best with an Express service like Ex 613 "Tatran", because of the wonderful WRmz #WagonSlovakia🇸🇰 #diningcar. I went for a traditional breakfast: "Raňajkové mini Párky Zipser" - mini sausages with bread & mustard 😍. A great company from #Bratislava🇸🇰 to #Vrútky🇸🇰!
Dear Andi, all the best on your final journey. The place in "your living room," the #diningcar of EC "Emona," will sadly remain empty forever, and we will no longer encounter you there by chance. My heartfelt condolences to all friends and relatives 🖤.

The @diningcar.at menu is very reasonably priced indeed and the food offering - like the rest of the train - aims to replicate menus from the 1970s…
Travelling on PKP’s “Nieśpieszny” (Unhurried) train today from Zakopane to Warsaw. It is comprised of wonderfully restored 1970s coaches and an electric loco in period-correct liveries.
