At the end of the day what people keep asking for is the ability to know when something is or is not AI so they can make their own informed choices about how they interact with it. Hopefully tools like SynthID become widespread so it doesn't fall on the user to make their own determinations.

imo genAI is only “inevitable” in the same sense that “the technology exists and can’t be un-invented.” AI companies are operating at insane losses and there’s no guarantee they’ll survive. Calling the current market structure “inevitable” is a weak rhetorical move to shut down valid criticism.

Being in therapy has been great for me but it has also ruined having a crush because whenever i feel any slight attraction to anyone, my first instinct is to remind myself i'm just subconsciously attracted to a pattern WHICH IS NEVER GOOD in my case
