they're repeatedly showing all of us, not just trans women in america, but all of us, just how subhuman these people actually believe they are, just how they intend to treat us if they manage to force their way into control of our countries too. Despicable.

it seems like that incredible decision was the responsibility of a handful of named individuals in the local police department, so one way or another, at least it's possible to hold them individually accountable for it.

The UK Supreme Court basically pulled an originalism on the intent of a text whose authors are still very much around and telling them their contradictory and incoherent interpretation of the law is complete nonsense.

This is heartbreaking. @kenjennings.bsky.social did so much damage and his actions caused a cascade that chased an innocent trans woman off the internet The fact that she has suffered all the consequences from his actions should make everyone stop and think about how privilege played out here

I'm so negatively polarized against political science as a field that only exists to justify a liberal idealist framework to such a degree I default to the opposite of whatever a "political scientist" tells me even if they happen to be correct.

Listen, if you outspent your opponent in an election by over 10-1 in one of the nastiest, most dishonest, and downright racist primaries I've ever seen and still lost, you got clobbered; I don't care about the margins.
Trans women continue to be victimized, brutalized, and condemned whenever we push back just a tiny bit. But at least Ken Jennings' feelings are ok.

There's something diminishing about living in a world where men's abuse is so ubiquitous and unimpeded, and still women are chided for not thinking enough of men's woes, men's harms, men's feelings. We're constantly asked why we don't tolerate our endless violation with more dignity.
