We need geologists to find the minerals needed to power the green transition, which is why I am constantly surprised/dissapointed that now when we need geologists the most we have such low numbers of undergrads doing Geology. ⚒️🧪 www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Are there any good popular-science style essays about economic geology, in particular mineral resources? I'm thinking of something in the style of McPhee or Bjornerud but about hydrothermal disseminated ore bodies, or placer deposits. Thanks for any recommendations or leads.
Sometimes the little things make the biggest difference. I visited a school with a book vending machine. The principal said kids earn tokens for good grades, helping each other, and so on. They can then use a token to get a free book. She said the kids love choosing their own books!
This has to be a topic that is in demand in the future given ambitions to use the subsurface for decarbonisation related technologies 👇
