Here for the sports and the 🍿. fandoms in no particular order: Reign FC/LVAces/Athletic Bilbao/NDWBB/LA Dodgers. I am from Idaho, I get to pick. she/her

The year is 2050. Manager Miguel Rojas has the Dodgers in position to win their 27th straight World Series championship. Kaj Betts is tracking toward MVP honors. They acquire C Ben Rortvedt at the deadline.

This is anecdotal but when I wrote a piece last week trashing the dodgers for going to the White House I didn’t get one single piece of hate mail. First time that’s ever happened. He’s truly never been less popular. Even those who still like him are p quiet right now!

CNN: "The president's overall approval rating now stands at just 34%. That matches his career low following the January 6 insurrection."

I wrote a report on the correlation between this type of sex "education" and the rates of teen pregnancy in the state of Idaho when I was 17 years old and presented it to legislators (spoilers: much higher rates of pregnancy, infections, violence). Suppressing birth control information (for girls), scaremongering about masturbation (for boys), it’s the kind of sex ed that Anthony Comstock stood for until his dying day (in 1915)

This is Benji. He recently learned how to wiggle his toes. Not sure what to do with that yet, but a good skill to have in his back pocket just in case. 12/10 (TT: benjiandbaxter)

Don’t want to see anyone calling the players bottlers when their manager stopped believing in them and did everything he could to prevent them from winning the game. If the England manager was a gym teacher who just said “OK have a go lads” and did nothing else they win the game.

There's actually a simple rule of thumb that will tell you when the World Cup is too big. If you went to 64 teams, would Italy be in it? If so, it's too big

From @theathleticfc.bsky.social: Gianni Infantino said FIFA will examine expanding the World Cup by a further 16 nations to a 64-team tournament ahead of its next edition in 2030. The 2030 tournament will be spread across six nations and three continents. nyti.ms/4pmQ1Fu
