1,000 followers! Thanks everyone. Whether you're here for my paintings, my ship book updates, my videogame writings, or my game development detours, I'm glad to have you. To celebrate, here's me being coerced into taking one of those runway photos at a party in Palm Springs a few years ago.

A man, poorly dressed for the desert heat in jeans, a black suit jacket, and a black Hawaiian shirt, extends his arms and opens his jaw in an expression he hopes conveys human joy in front of a banner advertising a tennis videogame. The man does not know that he will contract COVID at this party, nor does he yet know this bout of COVID will take away his sense of taste and smell completely. They will return, slowly, over the course of the next few years, but entirely changed, to the point where today nothing the man smells matches what those same things smelled like to the man then. It is a window into the past, a photo taken minutes before disaster. Later in the same night pictured here, the man will also meet Flavor Flav, and that will be the high point of his entire trip - apart from watching Tenet and Challengers on the airplane home.

I was told you couldn't do 3D on the Playdate, so I did it. Then I was told there was no way I could create exterior levels like those in Mirror's Edge, so I proved them wrong again.
