I appreciate KS surfacing just how much of this friction and censorship is due to payment processors and I wish more companies would put this stake in the ground rather than screwing over artists. If every company did this, payment processors would have to buckle.

It has also been almost entirely detached from systems of power and inequality and become a way to list petty personal grievances. Which is why you get absurd ideas and constructions like "being taught how to cook by your mom is a privilege third worlders have over Westerners". (Real example.)
Isaac's deconstruction of the 'privilege' framework here is desperately vital because it's no longer used as a tool to name and identify vectors of oppression, but rather a competitive bludgeon through which we assert why others don't have it as bad as we do. It has become anti-solidarity.
