Gaussian splats are really cool tech, but I don’t understand why people classify it as AI. It’s point clouds with a ML optimizer; all “classical” stuff. Sure, genAI can generate Gaussian splat clouds now, but that’d be like saying JPG and TXT files are AI because genAI can make JPGs and text too.

Leaning on the quirky comedy doesn't mean that you can't make things cool as hell with this style. This scene uses the same cadence & manga-like aspects, with just enough oomph to the animation, for truly amazing cliffhanger

Struggled to describe Nippon Sangoku earlier, even as someone who has read multiple volumes of the manga. Landed on "LoGH meets Golden Kamuy", which implies a high bar I don't think it's ready to clear... but it sure is getting a stylish anime adaptation, so worth giving it a try!
