Love SDHistCon, and this year should be no different! Only change from my usual schemes is that I might bring a prototype of a historical game for once! 😉

Our next convention is just around the corner! Saturday, Aug. 8 at noon PDT/3 p.m. EDT, tickets will go on sale for #SDHistConSummit2026, to be held from Nov. 6-9 at the SES Portuguese Hall in Point Loma San Diego (with a pre-convention brewery meetup Nov. 5). More info: sdhist.com/tickets-sdhi...

Kicking myself for not having a game to submit to this stellar event this year. But in truth, the game I was gonna bring got signed so I suppose I can't complain too much. If *you* have a game that's more than a bit offbeat, considering signing up and selling copies at IGNM at PAX U!

reminder: you've got until 9pm eastern tomorrow to submit an application to be a vendor for the Indie Games Night Market! I'll then spend a couple weeks going over the submissions and let folks know by the 15th whether or not you've been selected! www.newmillindustries.com/ignm-app

I won't be at Gen Con this year, but my upcoming game Creature Control will be! If you get the chance to try it out, I'd love to hear about it - doubly so with pictures!

Exciting Gencon coming up. We will be releasing the Homeland expansion for Root. AlIta and Andrea will be showing off Kart. Nick and Tyler will be showing off our cooperative dexterity game from @drawnonward.bsky.social, Creature Control. I'll be bringing two of my prototypes.

Laughed so hard playing this I cried. Got the entire table red in the face, it was so fun. Not a perfect game by any means, but what it gets right it nails. Not many games can pull that off.

A picture of a player board with dots on it. Above it is a connector board where someone has connected the dots to form some kind of vehicle? The cover of the game, Dotter Connector. It is a game from Tokyo Game Market and published by Mr & Mrs Games. It was designed by Surimi.

I've long been a fan of AIT, and was lucky enough to watch a playtest of the 2nd edition late last year at SDHistCon. I liked what I saw and know that @colewehrle.bsky.social didn't stop there! Give the campaign a follow if you're curious! @wehrlegig.games www.kickstarter.com/projects/col...

Very excited to be joining forces with The Seahorse & The Hummingbird for Quantum Train - a trick-taking game I designed. 🪐🚀🌌 Will be sharing more as this game matures through development and into eventual release, though TSH&THB have several games ahead of mine so don't get *too* antsy.

Went to a playtesting event with a small local group and it was a hoot. So many great games at various points in their lifecycles. Realized once I got home that a whopping 80% of the prototypes I brought needed to be playtested in-person!

The Kickstarter for my game, Growing Groves, just launched! It's a trick-taker where won tricks are bids on trees that are gradually growing throughout the game. Bigger trees are worth more points, so you have to balance winning tricks vs. growing the trees. Check it out!

Launched our trick taking crowd funding this morning and was immediately humbled by the people who backed right away. If you like those types of games- check it out here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/val...

Doing some cleaning of old prototypes and found these. Lovingly drawn in MS Paint for a Tic-Tac-Toe themed social-deduction game, with the mission track being a Tic-Tac-Toe board. Before I understood I had to be efficient with my time, especially with first drafts. It lasted all of one playtest. 🤣

A picture of 8 cards on a black background. 3 of the cards say Team X at the top, and show an anthropomorphic letter X wearing two trilbys in grayscale holding a knife. 5 cards say Team O at the top, and show an anthropomorphic letter O wearing a trilby in grayscale holding a cigar.
