as noted yesterday, Trump has now come around to treating an Iranian toll system covering the Strait of Hormuz as a given. Hard to overstate the level of strategic failure. US started the war purely as a war of choice and ends up dramatically empowering Iran and given the Iranian govt big wins.

What our tax dollars go to and what our government makes us morally responsible for is not a "singular obsession". In 2025 we gave Israel $7.8 billion in direct military aid. We couldn't have used that money elsewhere?

With Game of Thrones you had people like my mother, who never read a fantasy book in her life, memorizing characters and names because that show knew how to hook people. With the exception of scale and good acting, it doesn't have anything else that made Thrones appointment viewing.
