Practically every early-transition trans lesbian I've ever met had the same "I feel like I'm an intruder in all queer spaces because I don't like men" worry and was materially harmed by how it deprived them of community and support So academics writing about trans lesbians really should know better

I like how in 2026 our trans theorists of colour are concerning themselves with cutting-edge relevant questions on the topic of gender like "how much should we blame non-binary people for the current state of affairs" and "lesbophobia is fine when we do it in a trans way right"

bottom surgery for trans teens is an easy thing to fearmonger about but it’s also easy to push back on rhetorically. “no one is doing SRS on teens!” is a weak argument that is also not true and throws trans kids under the bus. “teens can consent to life saving healthcare, dipshit.” is true

the Stigma-Contamination mindset might be relevant to the Democrats desire to distance themselves from trans folks as well. Trans people frustrated with cis liberals often refer to them as finding us "icky"-- perhaps these people see us as contaminated politically as well-- corrupting their politics
