In sum, skip the Atlantic on this one and read Monstrous Regiment, a great standalone Pratchett and a perfect book for right now, because it takes on propaganda, war, gender, and how religious zealots starve nations and ruin everything. Quote me on that, why don’t you.

Gah! What? Stopped clock and all that. The second part of our The Fifth Elephant episode has over 10 minutes talking about British transphobia. Because seeing someone so full of bigoted hatred that they'd ally with fascists to tear down an institution that benefits them is the mood music here rn.

Terry Pratchett bears witness at the American Visionary Art Museum.

We did our first 2-part episode for The Fifth Elephant (which is not usually listed as a Discworld highlight), and a lot of that was talking about dwarves, especially Cheery - and I don't think we even mentioned this specific bit. There was also stuff about UK transphobia, which takes a while.
