Saw a clip of that guy from Staind saying that Bruce Springsteen duped us with Born in the USA because it’s actually not patriotic but I don’t think it’s really duping people to ask them to listen to more than four words of a song

Trump administration buildings are now becoming infested with bed bugs. Employees are reportedly becoming sick from the infestations in the building that houses the agency responsible for mitigating the spread of invasive pests in the US. www.notus.org/policy/usda-...
Listening to NPR right now and the point is being made about just what a shame it is that our 250th Anniversary is just trash now. And it's so true. There could have been so many forms of celebration of America (not just music but everything) but, yeah, now it's just all turned to shit.
the last time cbs news fucked with 60 minutes this bad Michael Mann made a film about it starring Al Pacino and Russell Crowe that was nominated for best picture that made all of management look like the incompetent spineless fucks that they were. anywho what’s Mike up to these days
This is rough news to hear. Eugene was one of those guys who hung out in both the rock and comedy scenes in Boston (he opened for The Dresden Dolls and freaking *killed*) which puts him in the friends-of-friends-of-friends category, but he was nice the time I met him. Wishing for his fast recovery.
Eugene Mirman is an exceptionally decent guy in addition to being brilliant. Police said his injuries were “serious but not life threatening.” Hopefully he has a quick recovery 💗. Send him some love or prayers or equivalent. www.usatoday.com/story/entert...
This keeps coming across my feed, and - as a long-time fan of Ms. Sandifer (and former fan of Neil’s) - this is “Best Fan Writer at the Hugos”-level good. Can’t recommend it enough.
Can't recommend @eruditorumpress.com's post on Gaiman enough, especially for those whose the stories hold real meaning.
Can you imagine how long a human researcher would take to answer the question 'where is President Cleveland buried?', but Bing managed to come up with an answer in *microseconds*. A cretinously wrong answer. But *microseconds*. THE RESEARCH GAME HAS CHANGED FOREVER.
Fire that guy!
I'm sorry the guy changing the rules on the fly is named what
I stand with County Executive Calvin Ball as he signs emergency legislation today prohibiting privately owned buildings from being used as ICE detention centers. Howard County chose dignity, accountability, and its people. Tune into our event now: bit.ly/4a2VtHw

I've started playing a little Civ6 again and have revived my tradition of naming my in-game religion "Femboy Hooters" every time.
Post a pic of the venue where you saw your first concert and the band or artist. Green Day at the Hatch Shell, Boston, MA. The infamous “Green Day riot” show, at the place the Boston Pops usually play. It. Was. Awesome.
The Wurzels, Taunton Odeon aka Gaumont Palace, 7 December 1979.
Good morning. You are waking up to the irony of a convicted felon president, who spent years avoiding his own criminal trials, capturing the president of a sovereign nation and holding him captive for criminal trials.
Just tried to search for Trump’s name in the Epstein files library on the DOJ’s website. You’ll be *shocked* to learn that there’s no mention of him whatsoever!

Dear anyone who ever voted for that guy - Just letting you know that, if the nuclear bombs start falling and America gets wiped out, everyone who survives is going to blame you, and most of the people who don’t survive will curse people like you with their dying breath. Anyway, good luck.
President Trump’s announcement that he has ordered the U.S. to resume nuclear testing “immediately” has drawn confusion and alarm from some experts, who argue that physical testing is outdated and would add momentum to an arms race it aims to counter.
esoteric fascism is easily the most embarrassing fascism. oh was hitler magic?? grow up
It’s kind of wild that after seven million people were in the streets protesting, the president posted a hallucinated video of himself wearing a crown and shitting on Americans and then proceeded to start demolishing parts of the White House
one of the consistently interesting things about ACA criticism since it was signed into law is how critics discount or ignore the medicaid expansion
I've been working on this podcast for the last few months, and we're almost ready to launch. It's one of the most fascinating projects I've ever been involved with. Check it out October 28 wherever you get your podcasts. youtu.be/StXLw_PPUOI?...

Air traffic control facilities across the United States are reportedly experiencing staff shortages amid Trump’s government shutdown. These shortages are taking place in Nashville, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Washington, and more.
this has got to be the stupidest and most blatantly "unamerican" group of rulers this country has ever had. if you can't win against "goons in the streets, rotting food in the fields, orang is 90 dollars now" then i dont know what to say
go ahead and pedant me to death abotu "who we truly are" ( agree anyway) but i simply do not believe the american myth and self conception is "i relate best to the boot standing on the neck" - i still think we consider ourselves freedom loving individualists
