If anybody was excited that Science Fiction Weekly is aiming to "revive" Daily Science Fiction, you should know they are straight-up lying about having gotten permission from writers to republish DSF stories on their website. (Yes, I have sent a DCMA takedown notice.)

Just saw Macbeth for the first time and you know what, it whips. Also all the shit the witches throw in their cauldron are euphemisms for plants, so probably he was just tripping balls during Prophecy 2.0. Fave character: Banquo at the feast, or Lady Macbeth yelling about Banquo at the feast.

Me, advising on research: You've definitely reached saturation, time to start writing Me, designing my research: Better find five new books on this fringe topic tangentially related to this entirely subtextual story beat

I am heading out of office on July 24th, to rest and read and prep for the Lambda Retreat, and all my brain is saying right now as I try to wrap up is --romanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromanceromancerom--

Every editing project has at least one word I cannot spell to save my life. This time around it's "genealogy," which I keep trying to put an extra "o" in. There should be one, goddammit. Gene-a-ology.

This exact thing happened with my parents and crows, except then my mom secretly got into it and helped Dad name them: "Big Jay," "Moxie," "Scruffy," and "Francine the Fence." According to my dad, all seagulls who try to steal the crows' peanuts are "Nickledick" like, collectively.

My mom is mad at my dad because a feral peacock keeps coming to their house and staring through the glass door into the kitchen and it turns out it's because my dad has been secretly feeding it

Tried to explain to my mother how romance heros do, and that she's married to a grumpy cinnamon roll. She says, "I don't even like cinnamon rolls, can he be an old fashioned sour cream doughnut instead?" So I guess that's the 80 year old version of a cinnamon roll now.

Ok, I found a swamp ambience, summer night in the bayou, ASMR track to chill to while I work. Crickets, cicadas, frogs. But also about every half hour a gator growls and slides into the water and it Fucks Me Up

First time I've ever seen my name listed as part of an award-nominated team, and...yeah, that's a good feeling. Especially given the specific ethos and celebrations of the Ignyte award. Also the whole Ignyte list is bomb. Congrats to every finalist, you rule.
