I mean this sincerely: I think pro Israel people really need to begin internalizing that this is not a fringe opinion anymore and in fact is very statistically likely to be the average view of any brown Democratic candidate for office or any candidate under the age of 50

I realize these are all things that sex workers have told us and could tell us better. Consumer-facing AI is basically a sex worker so of course it’s personalizing various iterations of financial domination for men because that’s what they want.

it's greatly underestimated, IMO, how the ferocious RW response to school closures and its sanewashing by legacy media led to those closures being seen as the primary failure of the pandemic response. The result has been a highly successful assault on public schools and public health.
I've said this before, but if scapegoating trans people was how the left and the right were able to come together and solve climate change, it would SUCK, but I would understand. But scapegoating trans people is the latest excuse that lets them ignore climate change - and that is so much worse.
Cannot get over how electable just drifting away from a constituent who asked you a challenging question makes you.

Adam Serwer@adamserwer.bsky.social · 2w agoIt is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.
So, while right wing critiques might be a start for this engagement, I would say that we need to look at the conservative impulse in academia to treat fields that have an interest in improving conditions for marginalized groups as activism.
Not ditching X and this guy are my biggest Mamdani disappointments so far

the nostalgia diner industry should have aged past the 50s. I should be able to go to an era-accurate 90s diner, served a room temp Fruitopia by staff in babydoll dresses, there should be a Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition machine against the wall. They could sell Desert Storm trading cards.
Beshear should come out and say: I’m not pushing the issue because McConnell in his current state is as useful to the state of Kentucky as Senator McConnell has been his entire career
Of course we don’t need a replacement to McConnell for Senate reasons but people want to see a Dem pick a fight that they think will force Republicans to admit they’re lying. Perhaps Dems would be in a better position to do so if they hadn’t been insisting Feinstein was fine.

Reject the nyt. Its practices are the exemplification of bigotry. It doesn’t quote trans ppl in stories about trans ppl. Its newsroom doesn’t hire or assign trans journalists to cover news about trans ppl. The nyt is a disreputable source.
