Showing my gf the Dominion Tank Police OVA's and I'm reminded that while GitS is the Shirow Masamune manga that influenced me the most, my favorite to read is always Dominon. I think he really shines when he's extra goofy. Also we get the OG anime catgirls, the glorious Puma Twins!

I crunched the numbers, and The Mermaid Mask is currently the 5th highest rated Overwhelmingly Positive game on ALL of Steam. Astonishing is right!!
