It’s infuriating how the vested interest in our real estate-run media are framing a fall in house prices as somehow not being the entire point: a return to houses as homes, not investments, and, here’s the kicker, mildly more affordable ffs 🤦🏻♂️

Speaking as a 40 year payg patsy … this entitled ‘how dare you tax my capital gains’ crew can drive on someone’s else’s roads. And use someone else’s hospitals. Etc. what a crock this debate is.
I just received my PLR/ELR statement. PLR/ELR is a way that Australian writers can receive income from their books in libraries and schools. I remind writers to do your bloody paperwork so you can get paid and I remind readers if you borrow our books from libraries we still get paid.
We were worried that the proprietary theft machine might've written this prize-winning story so we asked a proprietary theft machine. Techbro ouroboros. The great circle of slop.

This is an appalling case and Germany deserves far greater international opprobrium over it and similar actions. It also shows why citizenship-on-probation, and other measures that create hierarchies of rights within the same society, must be resisted without compromise.

I know cartoonists do unflattering caricatures of everyone but it amazes me that some of them (and their editors) never cross-check their caricatures of Jewish politicians with Der Stürmer just to make sure they haven't overdone it. No exaggeration, the bottom left one would have delighted a Nazi

Latest insane Islamophobic legislation comes from Geneva, Switzerland, where new rules dictate that women at public pools must wear, "one-piece or two-piece swimming costumes whose maximum length is above the knees and which leave the arms bare”. So, women MUST show arms and legs. That's freedom!

I called all three of mine and left voicemails. I've heard some offices have people answering their phones despite congressional recess. Feels like an exercise in futility but it's still worth doing because nihilism in the face of nuclear war is pathetic.

Even if AI could write a novel what problem has been solved? The problem of knowing what you’re reading was written by another person? Who loves reading novels but hates the part where your mind briefly and mysteriously touched another?

Katz@katz.theracket.news · 5mo agoI’ve found that generative LLMs are good at some writing-related things and really really fucking bad at others, and shouldn’t be trusted to do anything on their own. An AI generated novel might be readable in parts, but it’s unlikely to sustain that at length and won’t be … well, novel.
