Pro tip: iOS always requires a password at boot. You can also lock it quickly by pressing the side button five times rapidly. I use both to quickly disable FaceID.

Just as a heads up, passwords are protected in legal situations, like when police or customs wants to “just see” your phone, but biometrics are not.
