I have an “email job” at a computer ALL DAY and not one part of my workday involves AI. Unless you count scrolling past the AI results in google to find the correct answer/website/result, or ploughing through AI phone trees when I call companies to get to a human

My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.

All the people who are anti-Al or want to
slow Al progress, I have one question:
If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you
still get through an entire workday
without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other
 Al tool?

Imagine Al was suddenly banned.
Would you actually be willing to give it
 up?

Saw DEATHTRAP tonight with my little local film club. So much fun! I rented it from Fandango Stream for $3, since it isn't available to stream free. Excellent quality on a very large screen. Michael Caine, Dyan Cannon, and Christopher Reeves (plus a few others) on top of their game. #Filmsky

Watched THE RULES OF ATTRACTION this afternoon. I usually like movies set at colleges, whether they're fun or dark. As for Bret Easton Ellis, I thought AMERICAN PSYCHO was great. Not this one. Just...unpleasant. #Filmsky

I have a few thoughts about the actual movie, but for now, if you're in Chicago, do not go to the AMC 70 mm for The Odyssey. The masking blocked about 20% of the top of the screen, and they said they could not do anything to fix it.

Please listen to this podcast episode. It's smart and inspiring. (and, I admit it, I teared up a little at the end)

This week's podcast features #Democrat Ryan McLaren, running for Lieutenant Governor of #Vermont. He was my student @wesleyanuniversity.bsky.social, and has become an amazing man, committed to his neighbors, community, and state. This is what every Democrat should sound like. youtu.be/5J-MdR1jSY0

Shea, his daughter, and Annabel need a social worker. And about the religious stuff: I’m not any sort of Christian, but even I know that a Catholic doesn’t want to switch to a Southern Protestant church. The daughter’s freakout is sooo disrespectful. #90DayFiance

I can't believe I need to wash my hair because I have a Zoom meeting tonight. I mean, I can't believe i've been so lazy that I didn't do it earlier (because I'm having a day in which I won't see anyone in person). It's like pandemic times.

I never know whether to really believe some of the posts I read on Threads, but sometimes I can’t resist replying anyway, just in case. I’m just trying to spread joy. And to think, Modern Bride magazine didn’t want to hire me as a contributing writer! Crazy, right?!😏

A post on Threads by @ whor_naments that reads:

“So I got a wedding invitation today, and it said:

No handmade gifts.
No personalized gifts.
Nothing from Marshalls, Ross, Burlington, etc.

Then they included a color pallet of things they’d actually like instead.

It was just… millennial gray.

At this point, you’re getting a bottle of Trader Joe’s wine, and we’re all gonna call it a day.”

To which, I replied:
I have a suggestion. Two words: macaroni art…
accompanied by recycled card signed off with “PS we wanted to make sure we honored your request of ‘no handmade gifts’, so we made this with our feet.”

The schools that stood up to Trump thug demands—first Wesleyan and Princeton, then Harvard, then many others who were emboldened—have won in court and earned honor in history and support from alums. Columbia showed that appeasement always loses. It's never enough. Don't do it, Yale.

Need to have some frank talk about #Yale President McInnis, General Counsel Alexander Dreier and the trustees. First, they keep saying that they are compelled to enter into a settlement with the #Trump administration. Untrue. 1/

Was Courtney brought up in a hyper-religious cult with no TV or movies? She’s remarkably culturally unaware. Nick used the word “paramount” and she asked if meant the streaming service, but the comment just drifted away. I assume she’d heard of it because she works for Larry Ellison. #MAFS
