EFTROU podcast empowers listeners to radically improve their relationships with their bodies & look beyond oppressive systems. We’re on a temporary hiatus - thank you for your patience! http://EmbodimentForTheRestOfUs.com

📡Whether you're a pro or getting back into it, here's a refresher on some masking best practices. 1) Mold the nose bridge with both hands 2) Adjust the respirator so that it fits above the nose and below the chin 3) Check the seal by blowing out to make sure no air leaks

When I get tired of the social bullying that comes with wearing a mask, I remember the disability justice tied to this. Bullying that targets health and accessibility is not new. I've used condoms, I've worn glasses, some day I may walk with a cane or other mobility aid etc. It's just a mask 😷🫶

Everyone should have equitable access to healthcare. And disability justice & reproductive justice are connected. With a nationwide assault on reproductive healthcare deeply impacting our siblings with disabilities, our bill is timely, urgent, & responsive.

A graphic that reads:

Reproductive Health Care Accessibility Act

Our bill helps women with disabilities—who face discrimination and extra barriers when seeking care—get better access to the timely, informed, and culturally competent reproductive health care they deserve.

Generative AI is not needed. Not for accessibility or any other reason! Stop using disabled people as an excuse to push GenAI! You don't actually care about us. Many disabled people find ways to create art! We don't need to rely on a tool that steals from other creators!!!

Y'ALL NEED TO GO SEE IS GOD IS!!! Last year I saw Sinners and I knew that was the movie for us and this year it's this. I just left the theater and everyone erupted at the ending. It's not what you think. Please go see and support this. I need to see it again!!!

Exclusive: Kerr County, where nearly 100 people were killed and more than 160 remain missing, had the technology to turn every cellphone in the area into a blaring alarm, but officials did not do so before or during the river level rising to record heights.

Kerr County did not use its most far-reaching alert system in deadly Texas floods

Local officials used the system more than two days after the recorded height of the floods.

“We are, each of us, largely responsible for what gets put into our brains, for what, as adults, we wind up caring for and knowing about. No longer at the mercy of the reptile brain, we can change ourselves.” - Carl Sagan, Cosmos

Hello from Season 4 Episode 11 of the Embodiment for the Rest of Us podcast. In today’s episode, we have our last deep dive of the season with our dear friend Nikki Haggett (they/she). Specifically we talk about relating across difference, murmuration as metaphor, and a sacred unmasking.

An image of podcast recording equipment is faded in the background of the square image. In the top right, there is a teal shape with an audiogram icon and the words “Embodiment For the Rest of Us Podcast”. Below that is a second teal shape that says “With Guest”. Below that in white font is “Nikki Haggett (they/she) Thursday, February 20, 2025.” In a white bordered-circle in the far left center of the image, Nikki, a fat, white human, is looking at the camera and smiling. They have lovely fringe and hair dyed red. A blue and red checkered scarf is hung around their neck. In the background is a lovely green menagerie of foliage. Finally, the bottom of the image has the podcast’s website “EmbodimentForTheRestOfUs.com”

Around this time every year, I share a list of ways to support Native people. From supporting Indigenous people seeking abortion care to defending Native voting rights and keeping Native families together, here are some causes worth supporting. 🧵
