The story of a trans girl who tried to fight Idaho's anti-trans laws, and died to suicide earlier this year, is only now coming to light. Our hearts are broken, but we need to tell these stories and mourn our dead, because the media is barely bothering to look for the victims of trans genocide.
Idaho didn’t want May Pollard to live. Now she’s dead by her own hand. - Assigned Media
A trans teen tried to fight Idaho's bathroom ban in court, but hate prevailed.

Imagine if every time a state banned abortion, all the mainstream political thinkpieces and spins on the issue centered around "Here's how the abortion ban will harm cis men!" that's basically what the media environment is like for trans people right now. cis people are the oppressors!
Makes me feel insane how many people are like “here’s how this will affect cis people” as if the suffering of trans women, the actual target of this hate campaign and legislative oppression, is just an afterthought
Love it when the President of the United States says he wants to eliminate you and your entire community.
The White House is openly saying they want to eliminate a minority group and people still want to say this is about sports.

really fun to be writing a book where i get to cite Aristotle, Sartre, Merleau- Ponty, and Dennis Rodman’s 1996 book Bad As I Wanna Be
🤬 You do not "fill the gap" in archives. You ask *why* the gap is there in the first place. That is where the real information resides. Also: LLMs train on digitized materials. Do you have any idea how little has been digitized? LLMs train on a *sliver* of the human past and human knowledge.
Rebranding a hallucination as a ‘critical confabulation’ that can fill archival gaps is a big no from me.

as of today i have written 30,000 towards my book on the philosophy of fashion! i’m making a lot of progress this week and getting more and more excited about it. i really think it’s the best work i’ve done.
I get the impression that some people aren't clear what this means. This is the UK state deciding to intervene directly in the healthcare of individual children, depriving them of medicine that their doctors have prescribed for their personal health & wellbeing, in defiance of global best practice.
Update: Young people & families today received shocking & transphobic letters from NHS. These letters tell people that endocrine care (blockers / HRT) is being fully withdrawn in 7 weeks time (July 31st). Forced medical detransition. This country is a danger to trans children & young people.

Trans adolescents accessing the only NHS route to healthcare (WellBN) have been through a stressful year long transphobic investigation. For a year they have sat under the threat of forced medical detransition. With significant negative impacts. 1/2

What's gutting about this is that Juniper seems to have had a family who supported and loved her, she was in a community that has been explicitly welcoming to trans people, and a man still murdered her. She was living the life so many trans people can only dream of, and it simply didn't matter.
