BREAKING: The New Mexico Department of Justice has sued Acting AG Todd Blanche and the DOJ, requesting the court for access to unredacted Epstein-related investigative files that the DOJ has been withholding.

By the way... it's not as if Gen Z or Millenials are understating just how islamaphobic and racist Gen X and Boomers can be. Trust me, they definitely do not. It's that they believe El-Sayed's economic messaging is strong enough to counter that racism.

Depicting Jewish people with horns is a centuries-old, dehumanizing, antisemitic trope. Democratic Gov nominee Phil Weiser is outspoken about his mother’s birth in a Nazi concentration camp, his family members killed in the Holocaust, and the threat posed by antisemitism today.

HUGE: Under Mayor Mamdani, New York City just recorded its safest first 7 months of a year in history—and its safest July ever. In July: Major crime dropped 13% Murder dropped 32% Robberies dropped 15% Vehicle thefts dropped 25% Democratic mayors are putting public safety first.

Am told at the blue ash Ohio ICE office today that a bunch of springfield Haitians were told to just “check in” at are now having ankle monitors put on them, which, uh….. they’re not supposed to be fucking doing that

Yes, they want change. But more importantly: 1) El-Sayed is bringing in a massive amount of new voters (leftists, indies, youth), and Stevens isn't. 2) El-Sayed's messaging is strong enough to cancel out worries that a guy with his name is unelectable in the general.

New: Emerson poll shows Abdul El-Sayed with 15 point lead over Haley Stevens in Democratic primary. If this holds up it shows again that Democratic voters want real change--not candidates vowing to return to status quo. thehill.com/homenews/cam...

Finished KING QUEEN KNAVE. Good, but maybe my least favorite of Nabokov's early, pre-DESPAIR books. Conceptually, it feels like an early attempt to at the "it's all contrived" premise of BEND SINISTER, but as a comedic film noir / melodrama satire.

But I think what Wilson may ultimately be bothered by is the fact that the film is successful in its own terms. That it isn't having to be faithful to the original text to be such a powerful work of art. And that seems to be what offends Wilson the most, and why she felt compelled to mock it.

So here's he thing with THE ODYSSEY. You might hate the fact that Nolan has an annoying fan base. (Though, honestly, that bro fan base is less pronounced than it used to be). But he isn't just Tarantino. Nolan is objectively good at this. These aren't Marvel films.

BIG DEAL on voting rights this morning: Governor Spanberger just restored the voting rights of some 60,000+ Virginians. Her move reverses Youngkin's abrupt decision in 2023 to end automatic voting rights restoration, which brought Virginia back to a system of default lifetime disenfranchisement.

Virginia Governor Restores Voting Rights for Thousands With Past Felony Convictions - Bolts

This is the only state that, absent action by the governor, bans people convicted of any felony from voting for life. Virginians have an opportunity to end that system for good in November.
