Just woke up to learn that it’s still too close to call! NBC called it for Abdul but no one else has yet. Difference as of now: 19,493 or 1.28%.

2 of the 3 polls have him with the margin of error against Rogers. I suspect pro-Stevens Ds will come around and support him (whereas now they say they won't support either, which isn't likely).

My assumption is that if El-Sayed wins and gets the party to rally around him he’ll get a meaningful bump in the polls. But in last week of the primary 3 general election polls had him trailing Rogers. It’s some of the worst polling we’ve seen from any battleground Senate candidate this cycle.

Finished KING QUEEN KNAVE. Good, but maybe my least favorite of Nabokov's early, pre-DESPAIR books. Conceptually, it feels like an early attempt to at the "it's all contrived" premise of BEND SINISTER, but as a comedic film noir / melodrama satire.

I just watched the Max Miller video. The clinical term is "douche bag voice" and is usually the product of steroid usage.

But I think what Wilson may ultimately be bothered by is the fact that the film is successful in its own terms. That it isn't having to be faithful to the original text to be such a powerful work of art. And that seems to be what offends Wilson the most, and why she felt compelled to mock it.

Reading KING QUEEN KNAVE. Maybe Nabokov's weakest so far, but it's still really good. It just isn't as efficient has his others.
