Yep. Can confirm. And lost hours trying to straighten out insurance snafus or worse no health insurance and on the hook for many thousands of dollars of out of pocket/copay expenses… fuck this shite system
This also sums up the American healthcare experience pretty well. American healthcare is a travesty. This is the bad place.
I had thought a lot about how AI slop would make fake ones more likely and had perhaps insuffiiently considered how climate change might make real ones more likely
Whelp. After 15 years of me saying “every shark swimming through a flooded city street after a storm photo on social media is fake,” we may finally have a real one. I’m awaiting confirmation from folks with better eyes than mine. abcnews.com/video/136803...
I've always been captivated by the "Freedom" sculpture on Vine St., of a figure breaking free of a wall in 4 stages, with the final figure on the sidewalk, arms outstretched and faced lifted. I think it makes our city more interesting, which is the most any of us who love Philly can hope to do. 🧵1/3
Wow! Can we clone this man? Asking for every American City! 😍
Since the heart attack (end of July) been slowly getting back into running - all August was increasing walking distance and tempo, September slow building of running - slowly building base and speed. Still a long ways to go… strava.app.link/2EWj0FfhO6b strava.app.link/4jkNf1zhO6b

What was supposed to be a “short dog walk for Mac” quickly turned into a relatively easy run when he saw I still had on my running tights and my (now retired) road shoes. His excitement and energy was a bit contagious. Fortunately he is responding well to the training we started for canicross. Fun!!

And the winds are now howling! Both dogs and 2 of 3 cats now on my bed, 3 is on Johann’s bed with him. All are relatively calm but clearly “concerned”
Jasper loves having Johann back home while he goes to grad school at URI.
First of 2-3 emergency garden harvest baskets (about a 2 gallon volume) tomato, tomatillo, bell and hot peppers, basil and a bit or oregano. Still have more of all those then cucumbers, raspberries and blackberries to get.
Oh dis is gonna be a fun weekend! Supposed to be Portsmouth Sea Music Festival weekend… but with 50-70mph nor’easter forecast to hit here and rain plus high winds up there… no fink so! Battening down hatches and harvesting everything harvestable I have space for.

"I had to use AI in my module because I can't afford an artist!" Did you even ask? The sheer amount of creators out there that are looking for people to write lore for their maps, art, characters, items, etc. is staggering. Put out a call & ask for shares. You'd be amazed at the results.
I’ll be doing a live watercolor demo at the Maryland Dino Park’s (Laurel, MD) open house tomorrow starting at 10am. Come learn about #paleoart and help find some fossils! 🦕🦖
Wedding rehearsal tonight so big cheat night food/drink wise, but all the work been doing getting back in shape after heart attack paying off. Big spike, but short term and settled fast! Took evening run with my new easy run day partner Mac (our 2yro Black Lab) He loves fartleks/intervals!
Well for sure the hard way to do it, but at last Jasper realizes he is still most welcomed on the bed, even by Mac. Now curling up in my crotch not quite as appreciated, but… he is suffering so I can too if it makes him feel better
Jasper is NOT happy with the latest development… but in good news, Mac has given him a tongue bath on two separate occasions (Jasper is on some *good* drugs right now)
Literally one month after getting out of hospital for a complete arterial blockage (and resultant heart attack) leading to stent emplacement. Now to see if I can get back to my PR for half marathon by next July.
With recent crazy from petulant politicians online and the recent passing of two of my favorite entertainers… I am going offline until my partner and I have watched all the Tim Curry movies, Dolly movies and albums. Frankenfurter will be appearing each night at midnight! Dogs might commit us!
