JK Rowling putting up a disclaimer about having mold in her castle in the FAQs section of her website is satisfying. She was so bothered about the mold she learned how to blur her backgrounds, now this. Bullies are such pathetic creatures.

As a brown migrant living in the UK legally, this is precisely why there can be *no* compromise on the fundamental right of seeking asylum. Pretty quickly it’s anyone who ‘looks’ like an asylum seeker - ie brown or black - who is targeted. No one is safe from this.

Amanda Martin, Labour MP for Portsmouth North, called the hotel incident "deeply concerning". She said: "It's completely unacceptable that misinformation has led to young cricketers visiting our city being wrongly targeted and mistaken for people seeking asylum. "It's also wrong that people who work in the hotels had to deal with this. "Those who arrived in Portsmouth on Sunday were transported outside of Hampshire for processing. "There is a legitimate debate to be had about immigration, but it must be based on facts not misinformation or rumour." The BBC understands the England and Wales Cricket Board has checked on wellbeing of the Pakistani under-19s team, and is reviewing security arrangements for the remainder of their tour.

Imagine, after trans people turned up in masks to intimidate people, the government saying "we're working as hard as we can to give you everything you want". No, trans people wrote on some statues with chalk at a peaceful protest and the Home Secretary said they were a disgrace.

I've seen people I follow casually discussing the trailer like it's normal or discussing the merits of casting and other stuff and I'm unfollowing people for it tbh, esp those who also have 'trans ally' in their bio. If you don't understand why, well, that's part of the problem, isn't it...

As someone who has been tweeted about personally by Rowling. And who spends my whole life trying to fight the damage caused by the litigation she funds. I think, personally, I would be less harmed by you giving me an actual kick in the ribs than watching the new Harry Potter & trying to justify it.
