hey people sorry if some of you breeze past this part but it’s Friday. We do AI discourse on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is for stuff that rocks and is actually fun. It’s in the TOS & the packet you got at orientation. get it together please

been doing another bloodborne playthrough, this time trying to focus hard on parrying (so, bloodtinge and skill), and it's wild how different the game feels. got martyr logarius on my second attempt, lady maria on my 5th. this time, amygdala and amelia felt harder than either of them, which is nuts

man, i have got to start writing on my blog again. i mean, i still have half-finished pieces there to finish, but also: i have some thoughts about OBSESSION that i wanna put out there. it's a great movie and getting a lot of cool convos going.

for years, i've loved browsing keith thompson's portfolio, the same way i would sit in a bookstore and read the monster manual as a kid. i love his concept of the saint of parasites - "I only ask what any devoted lover would: everything you have left, you share with me." a tapeworm's love.

did hamstring curls the other day, after skipping them for months, and today it's got me stumbling around like freddy fucking fazbear

this is a thing I actually take tremendous comfort in. you wanna learn something? you can. just do it. the hard stuff takes a while and won't necessarily be super satisfying right away. but you could just do it, anytime. learn to draw. learn a language. write a book. make a game. whatever you like.

pretty fucked up that dreading things is exhausting by itself - so exhausting, that by the time i finally work myself up to doing the thing i dread, i'm completely spent and just desperate for relief! wild stuff, that brain

"Indies will save us" No! YOU WILL SAVE INDIES! Go leave a review for that neat indie game you like, share the trailer for an upcoming game you're anticipating, tell your fave developer they did a good job, go tell people about such and such game that's just come out, you can make a difference!

every now and then, i'll randomly stumble across the art for chomping kavu, and think "godDAMN that's a GOOD critter!" look at that chunkiness: bugger jaws than teeth, a chest that's trying to fit 4 appendages... finally checked the artist credit, and it's john fucking tedrick! that guy's amazing!

one of the coolest things about the internet is that you can tell a writer/artist/etc that you like their stuff, and they'll probably see it

oh my god there's going to be so much spidey/punisher fanfiction (the new spider-man movie was actually good)
