I keep seeing arguments for games being expensive due to hyper realistic expectations for art, or simply lots of art. What I don’t see is the actual most costly reason: Indecision Iteration is good, but the yearly rebuilding of entire characters, storylines, and levels, is the most expensive thing

Many factors at play here - not the least of which is higher-ups (in their infinite wisdom) not being able to commit to anything, or knowing good from bad All the while the economy at large expects the profit line go infinitely up, absolutely ignoring its undeniable tendency to do the opposite

"Trans rights are not the most important issue right now" Not standing up to protect our trans siblings is letting someone put a jackhammer into the foundation of human rights. It is absolutely critical we support one another.

If generative AI did a single thing half as well as its loudest proponents would like you to believe, they would have better excuses for choosing creative and moral bankruptcy over investing in people and our planet. ✌

Every time a project I'm on is cancelled, I hole up for the night with a good game to take the edge off. Five times now, and it's become a ritual. Project Cancellation: [unannounced] Comfort Playthrough: Florence 💛

A loose digital self-portrait of Ellie rendered in surrealist pinks and electric yellows. They look at you thoughtfully out of the corner of their eye. Ellie wears a dark shabby button down and a black wide-rim fedora. Sunlight glints off their round, wire-rimmed glasses. Swatches of violet, ember red, and sky blue cut through the middle distance behind them.

Sharing my personal St. Patrick’s Day tradition: The Great Hunger resulted in the death of 1mil Irish and the emigration of another million. Every year I donate to an organization that fights hunger in memory of those lost. Please consider doing the same. 💚☘️

I'm Ellie. I'm an Asian-American narrative designer, writer, educator, and occasional Twitch streamer. Over a decade ago -- in my first day of in game dev undergrad -- someone told me I was in the wrong class. Babes, they were wrong about us. 🔥 #WhatAGameDevLooksLike

Fresh evidence of my visage incoming. It's hard to know when and how to share a euphoric photo, but heck, here goes. I'm enjoying the little streak of grey. I think she's gonna need a name. Winifred? Dolores?

I may delete this because it’s a bit spicy but it shouldn’t be lost on us that games being turned into TV is essentially harvesting the stories written by those who don’t have union representation or healthcare with WGA by those that do. Our stories are good enough for TV but the writers aren’t?
