Same girl. New site. Queer, polyam, bi-polar fangirl with eclectic tastes. Vidder. Multifannish AF. Kind of obsessed with figure skating. Once got a concussion from a cat.
this is really, really bad, and Spokane is ... not exactly on the national radar. I know there are infinite people and places that need help, and everyone's resources are finite, but some options if you are so inclined:

It's okay. Spokane's pretty used to being ignored and/or forgotten about.
Seems a bit insane that the national conversation is focused on relitigating the fact that COVID was bad and RFK is a nut job while largely ignoring the wildfires that are devastating Washington’s second largest city

More than 600 (likely homes) burned in and around Spokane County yesterday. The devastation is incomprehensible www.spokesman.com/stories/2026...
Friends, here is the official announcement of the memorial for my mom. This is a public memorial and all are invited. The Museum will open at noon so we will invite everyone to stay and gather in community, see art, and just enjoy the day. Doors will open at 9:30am.

I am going to take every opportunity I can to refer to AI data centres as "dark Satanic mills".
That day when I was looking through a 14th-century romance. First impression: That's not a very good stag, is it... Closer look: OMG LOOOOOL #medievalmanuscripts
Oh, my God. Nicest guy. Was on the Pogues bill at Carnegie with him. His love of music was palpable, infectious, radiant. I’ve seldom seen a musician as connected to the moment of the song as he was that night, in deep communion with the song & the people playing it. So many felt it. Hard loss.

Fun fact: If you made Dirty Dancing now, it would be set in 2002. But the plot line would make more sense if it were set in the present day. Sigh.
Fun fact! If Back to the Future was made today Marty would land in... Sigh. 1996

Mixed bag of a day. - Woke up to cat pee on my bed + went out in the kayak with @marnanightingale.bsky.social for several hours - slipped getting out of the boat and gouged a hole in the bottom of my foot - soaked my foot in very hot salty water + made a milkshake w/ fresh local strawberries
Drove up to the cottage late last night with only Chesterfield for company. Pulled into the driveway and came to a stop just as U2's A Sort of Homecoming ended on the stereo. I am coming home, indeed.
I gave up after about three hours and hung up. I'll try again later.
Also, what even the point of "give us your number and we'll call you back" customer service, if you still leave me on hold for an hour and a half?

On an interminable hold with Microsoft support trying to figure out why Office claims I don't have a subscription when I absolutely do. The hold music would be more tolerable if it wasn't so short. Just the same two minutes of bland music over and over.

This man can tell you 4,001 facts about that cat. Photo from my collection, no date/info.
Woke up at 4am because I rolled over directly into fresh cat pee. This is the second incident in 3 days & those are the first since we got to the cottage. We've got ourselves another uti! Back to town for antibiotics for me. I wonder if they'll make me bring in the whole damn cat this time.
Too many news items are happening at once & I cannot keep up but if you’re in the path of this (Vars / Bourget / Fournier / Hammond / Plantagenet / Alfred) pls take cover
