It's not that universal healthcare = no fascism. People in France are being squeezed the same as people in the US. Yes, they are starting from a better place having universal healthcare, but decline is decline and feels bad even with healthcare. People are going to look for someone to blame.

It's true, the claim more left-wing economic policy will weaken far-right popularity has been proven wrong. But the claim that adopting some of the far-right's social policy will weaken far-right popularity has also been proven wrong. Other people being wrong doesn't automatically make you right.

Chief Justice Roberts has issued an “administrative” stay In the ballroom case—which effectively allows Trump to keep doing what he’s doing while the full Court decides whether to let him keep working indefinitely while the case moves forward (which it probably will, given this intervention).

There's nothing to "join" in the Democratic Party. It's a brand with products I spend my vote on once a year at the democracy store. Most people's experience of it is an endless stream of texts that read like scams, their reward for donating or signing a petition. No wonder DSA is growing
