The issue here isn't the Reflecting Pool (which seems trivial). The issue is the President ordering his subordinates to arrest and prosecute an innocent man on completely fabricated pretences in order to cover for his own corrupt contracting deal.

So many sneering elitist journalists with snarky posts over the past months that the Reflecting Pool story was trivial. It was so trivial that the DC US Attny presented false evidence to a grand jury to indict an innocent man to please the President while they both lied about it.
My reply to him was that I don’t live in New York City, and I couldn’t give a flying fuck who their mayor is; that Mamdani does not have nuclear weapons and did not plunge us into a war; and that he should stick to the subject - which is that voters like him brought all this on us

Where was the handwringing then about how that abhorrent party-wide unapologetic behavior would scare off the "independent normies"? I don't remember that conversation happening.

There will be a Victims Fund in 2029. It will be for all the people who were charged under false pretenses, whose cases were dropped after DOJ admitted the evidence was all lies, and/or who were acquitted at trial. There will be justice. It’s coming.

The whole point of having 4-year service academies that replicate in some respects the civilian college experience is the idea that effective officers competent one day for high rank need a well-rounded education in which ever waking moment isn’t devoted to ‘warfighting’, whatever tf that means.
