Prompts a fun question: whats the most niche historical inaccuracy in a piece of work that annoys you Not like 'oh they were referring to the wrong king' , more 'they had the wrong king on a banknote in one scene'
Why do book characters consistently have wildly anachronistic names. Anne Hathaway is currently playing a Colleen Hoover character who is a women in her early 40s in the 2020s named *Verity Crawford* Other media does not do this, if this was an original film sheβd be called Lucy

Thanks to everyone who watched my performance of The Secret Of The Poets at the Edinburgh Book Festival at the @iamloudpro.bsky.social Grand Slam! I'm still reading through comments β€οΈ Here's the text version, which you can also find on my poetry site. I'll post a video soon about why I wrote this β€οΈ
Shape, decoration and structural integrity have all been considered. Some are credible ancient vessels. Others look more at home in a computer game or a Las Vegas hotel.
King Harald Hardrada died 960 years ago today at the Battle of Stamford Bridge. His dream of conquering England would never be realised, and even more tragically he wouldn't survive to witness the founding of Buckinghamshire Archives in 1938.
Well I booked my ticket for this - surprisingly my non-archaeologist husband said he'd come too!
Dates for The Buildings Archaeologist book tour are now live! I shall be asking the question: why do we know so little about the ancient buildings which surround our everyday lives? Full details of each show and ticket links are available via: triskeleheritage.com/the-building...
