I’ve long held the position that police should be held to a higher standard and that qualified immunity should be abolished. That should include “confidential conversations” held while on the job.

This has happened to me a couple of times with a daily I used to freelance for. New editor was usually in the wake of a change of owners and a reduction in the freelancer budget.
Tomris Laffly@tomilaffly.bsky.social · 6d agoWhen a new editor comes in anywhere these days, steady freelancers get abandoned. I had a great interview home at a NY-based pub once upon a time. They didn't pay much, but work was steady. Its wonderful editor left recently & the new one won't even bother responding. Insulting and dehumanizing. 2/2
