Bringing up the Cruel Paradox again: the median voter is made well enough and financially stable enough during a Democratic president to think that "vaguely Culture War" issues actually matter most. Then the GOP crashes the economy, and folks come back to the Democrats. Rinse, repeat.

The Cruel Paradox is that Democrats (basically since Reagan) get the economy back on its feet, only to have enough people get enough money that they think "actually, migrant caravans and rumors of kids pissing in litterboxes, that's most important".
A non-zero number of folks on Bluesky, for understandable reasons, have put way too much hope in the next Democratic administration in the US, and are brewing themselves up for another existential breakdown in like 2029 or 2030.

Using stolen and altered images to mislead is a popular technique for deceiving people online. Here's a case study of a Bluesky user's attempt to pass off someone else's dog photo as his own, and subsequent attempts to muddy the waters with AI-generated images when the plagiarism was pointed out.
For up and coming data analysts and system architects; one of the simplest ways you can get better at your job is to start practicing meditation for visualization. Imagine yourself as a piece of data. How do you skate the infrastructure? Are there walls? Do you have keys? Where do you go? Try it.
This is a great article and I think it highlights how being Extremely Online is a *way of knowing*, a social epistemology, where constructs and frames that are warranted solely on the make-believe of bouncing ideas in online discourse become the lens through which participants come to know the world

So, I tried to put some philosophical handles on it. Behold: an exhaustive definition that explains why Extreme Onlineness fucked us.
Looking at social media, specifically short form video content, one can possibly conclude we are in a severe mental health crisis. It’s like no one learned coping methods during lockdown; they just got angrier & more scared. This is the entire reason I don’t talk to family. Panic is a liability.
