“this person is bad so their work was always bad” is also a really dangerous view to take because it leads to - unconscious or not - a bias towards “but I do like this other person’s work, ergo they must be a good person” which, as we have seen over and over, is simply not true

What happens a lot on social media is when someone (Warren Ellis, Neil Gaiman now Ed Brubaker) has allegations thrown at them people tend to leap out the woodwork saying "their work was never good." That helps no one as it's irrelevant. What matters is their actions and what they did.

I know there are so many factors at play here, but the one that stands out to me is that these brainlets said "AI-generated art is good and valid!" and also "with AI you can generate whatever art you want, when you want it, to exactly your tastes!" without noticing the massive own-goal being set up

We should fight hard against gaming becoming a subscription streaming model where we own nothing, and corporations control everything. Capitalism wants us to rent and perpetually pay for everything in our lives. This model is terrible for consumers and creators for many reasons.
