To any artist or creator who is still trying to make stuff with your own touch and hands, keep doing what you're doing. We need your voice more than ever and your creativity will thrive in this day and age. Keep creating and keep moving forward with making art you make yourself.

This right here. I know art is a “luxury” and when people can’t afford even the basics, it’s understandable that they aren’t spending money on art stuff. So if you still support artists in these though times, know how much we all appreciate it. (And don’t feel bad if you can’t.)

if you have bought art/commissions/goodies from or reposted stuff from artists in the last few months you are all our hero for real thank you for real 😭 it matters so much

“Are the arts important?” Humanity practiced them long before they had use for science and will practice them long after math is gone. Is the dawn important? Is dusk?

the more genAI is pushed on us the more I fall in love with that rough, less polished, more obviously painted, sketchy, messy, charcoal-stained type of art that just screams with every brush and penstroke that human hands have touched it.

❤️ Trigger warning. Death. Hey friends. I lost my baby girl last night, peacefully at home. I’m in shock and I haven’t been able to process her absence. I really need to share her memory as much as I can, it’s the only way I’ll get through this. Atoli, you will forever be the GREATEST baby kitty.

Hey, whether you did hundreds of artworks this year or one artwork this year, you are an artist, and you're doing your best. Be proud of whatever you created this year. Life ebbs and flows.

artists support each other when systems will not. there's little safety net. it is resilience. artists are not your competitors. artists are your peers, mentors, and the ones who will defend the ability to create sustainably. to those who struggle to continue drawing, you are an artist.
