I feel like the Ocarina of Time art direction is giving me whiplash because I keep switching between finding it charming and find it a bit too Unreal 5 for comfort. I like the "miniature vibe" a lot of the gameplay/enemies gives off, but the characters are not working for me.

I feel like the reason I don't enjoy a lot of cosmic horror other than Lovecraft's is that a lot of authors simply make things weird and incomprehensible without ever giving the feeling that it makes perfect sense to something we can't even begin to understand.

“this person is bad so their work was always bad” is also a really dangerous view to take because it leads to - unconscious or not - a bias towards “but I do like this other person’s work, ergo they must be a good person” which, as we have seen over and over, is simply not true

What happens a lot on social media is when someone (Warren Ellis, Neil Gaiman now Ed Brubaker) has allegations thrown at them people tend to leap out the woodwork saying "their work was never good." That helps no one as it's irrelevant. What matters is their actions and what they did.

So many artists seems to forget that having people pay your for a commission isn't a generous donation; it's them purchasing a service. If an online store took my money but failed to send me the product I would not "remember that the seller is human<3" but dispute the charge due to it being a scam.

People justifying their AI-use with arguments showcasing how said AI-use is undermining their own abilities. I just saw "using AI to make art to show my therapist what I'm feeling when I can't through words" Prompts are words. You can develop that skill, if not outsourcing it for a flashier result.
