Always worth reminding folks that there's a bunch of BTS articles on the Zeo Genesis website, including a look at these lovely large lads that I helped to flesh out for the new faction! Concept art and rambling thoughts (the rambling admittedly me) abound!

Concept Art Sheet of front facing armor design paintovers for the Orgh Faction in Zeo Genesis. The model featured is a hulking lizardlike creature with ridged metal plate armor festooned with decorative ropework, as well as metal and bone trophies. All 4 designs heavily feature crystalline protrusions and motifs of abstract head shapes done in maze-like arrangements of single tubes.

Have you ever noticed that, whenever you post something to actually promote your books, your reach and engagement drops? It often feels like social media is against us, or that it just hates books! But we can work together to change that. Support your fellow authors and, in turn, support yourself!

The idea that people are gatekeeping ‘creativity‘ is horseshit, certainly in terms of writing or art. Pick up a pen or pencil. Type something on whatever device you can use. THAT’S creativity. The ‘gatekeeping’ is around opportunities to work in it and make money, and genAI is destroying that.

Headline of an Observer article: In defence of AI slop: we should embrace open access to creativity, not condemn it

Look past the Donald Trump superhero memes and the new software gives us the chance to democratise creative production. No wonder art’s cultural gatekeepers are worried.

here is the thing. if you tell me that you believe that race is a biological category and that it is a guide to the objective superiority and inferiority of groups of people, i am not calling you a racist to *insult* you, i am calling you a racist because it best describes your beliefs.

not only that, they are demanding that they not be called racist when they are observed to be signing up to support the racist

Who out there is doing the best community engagement stuff with various Evil Hat games? (It's easy for me to live down in a silo of getting-the-next-thing-done, so chances are I may not have noticed!)

Quick PSA: authors, don't do this. Got an email from an author today which started off with "I saw that you welcome review requests" (not true), then didn't actually ask for a review, but instead asked me to 'consider supporting' their writing and pointed me to a PayPal link! Yeah...don't do this.

optimist: the cup is half full pessimist: the cup is half empty Ancients wargamer: yes, but is the glass being “exactly at” half full the same as it being “within” half empty? And does the half way mark itself have a nominal thickness ?
