I honestly don’t think I’ve anything left to say about COVID-19. Whatever we say, it’s ignored by the authorities. It’s also being ignored large numbers of people who should know better. For me, this ⬇️ post sums up one big reason why we’re not getting anywhere.

Forcing people back into the ‘workplace’ is a good way to destroy productivity.

They don't want to admit there are so many people with long Covid. If they did they wouldn't be able to cut benefits.

Yes, this is a global crisis. It’s not just the US who have a problem. Most of the public are oblivious though as the authorities don’t talk about it. For example, the authorities are happy to let COVID-19 harms get blamed on everything else. It’s getting worse.

I'm thinking of the leftist content creators I follow who never mention Covid. They go to conferences, travel, no masks. Then they get sick, no testing, "just a cold". They disappear for a while or work sick. Over & over. They talk endlessly about social justice issues but never this one.

Nope, the left. The right obviously don't care & liberals think they care but there are self-proclaimed leftists who support marginalized groups but are silent when it comes to masking & otherwise protecting disabled & immunocompromised people (& all of us tbh because Covid does not discriminate.)

The infected blood scandal is claiming the lives of 2 people a week. They’re still waiting for compensation. Disgraceful. How many are dying under our ‘living with Covid’ policies? How many are being disabled by our ‘living with Covid’ policies? Will they get compensation?

The number of long term sick & disabled has skyrocketed since 2020. Growth in the economy is virtually non-existent. Welfare cuts are being made. Yet how many journalists have joined the dots to the huge impact the pandemic & Covid has had & is still having? It’s pathetic.

“Since the pandemic…” says Liz Kendall in her Commons statement. That’s part of the problem. Labour won’t admit COVID-19 is still having a big impact. COVID-19 can weaken the immune system, which means that people are getting ill more often. Long term sickness is escalating.

You won’t get long term growth in the economy unless you address the causes of illness and disability. This is so obvious but most politicians are ignoring it. I was pleased this was raised by Professor Danny Altmann at the recent meeting of the long Covid APPG.

Craig Charles had George Egg on his show earlier on BBC 6 Music. George has been ill again with “a nasty virus”, the “worst sore throat ever” and “bad fatigue”. He said “it could’ve been Covid but as there’s no tests anymore” he didn’t know. Sums up public health in 2025.

Long Covid, higher death rate from knock on covid effects (heart attack, stroke etc), unaffordable energy, food price inflation, rising pension age, sabotaging NHS, austerity, assisted dying laws, leaving ECHR. Don't tell me they are not trying to enact eugenics in plain sight.

They let over 1,000 disabled die waiting for their benefits. They cut vaccines to the vulnerable, they don’t care if we die.

On this Covid Day Of Reflection, I’m thinking about all the people who have died because of COVID-19, close to 250,000 officially in the U.K. I’m thinking about all those with long Covid. Over 3M in the U.K. Covid is still killing and disabling and nothing is being done.
