These 8 Democrats voted to pass a national ban on trans teachers and mention of LGBTQ topics. Rep Henry Cuellar (TX) Rep. Don Davis (NC) Rep. Cleo Fields (LA) Rep. Laura Gillen (NY) Rep. Vicente González (TX) Rep. Marcy Kaptur (OH) Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA) Rep. Eugene Vindman (VA)

☎️ would be awesome if you could call Congress on your lunch break about the Forest Service reorg. Some are calling it a dismantling. Big business (timber, mining, oil, realty, etc.) might call it “dinner.” 📞 Capitol switchboard: 202-224-3121 Details in 🧵

Most prescient, clear/eyed work of writing I’ve read on reorg. Read it. Then act. “Call your senators. Call your representative. Not next week or later. Now. Tell them this is not a reorganization — it’s the destruction of a federal agency by executive fiat and that Congress must intervene.”

Long-term studies are vital to understanding how species and ecosystems are responding to climate change and other environmental stressors, but difficult to sustain under typical short-term grant cycles. LTER has been funding these since 1980. This is breaking something that can’t be replaced.

NSF LTER program “archived”. LTER=“Long Term Ecological Research”. This program has been incredibly successful, incredibly frugal for what they accomplish, and…of course…targeted by evil know-nothings. My heart is breaking.

Amidst everything else, the Trump regime has quietly killed off the U.S. Forest Service 🌲 “One hundred and ninety-three million acres of your national forests… just handed, on a silver platter, to the people who’ve spent their entire careers trying to destroy it.” www.hatchmag.com/articles/tru...

Friendly House leaders are looking at next steps. Let’s be real: USFS leaders assumed quiet diligence and results would be respected. If your work is affected by closures— send a tip to let House leaders know the work you do at your facility. democrats-naturalresources.house.gov/contact/tipl...

All right, live whatevering of Trump v. Barbara, the birthright citizenship case. Arguing for the bad guys is US Solitictor General John (voice is an immutable characteristic so let's show some respect) Sauer. For the plaintiffs it's ACLU legal director Cecillia Wang.

1. In devastating news, the Supreme Court just ruled in favor of conversion therapy, a practice the UN calls torture. The ruling could have catastrophic consequences, writes Jackson in her sole dissent. The ruling comes on trans day of visibility. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Supreme Court Rules Against Conversion Therapy Bans On Transgender Day Of Visibility

"The fallout could be catastrophic," said Justice Jackson in her lone dissent of the 8-1 opinion.

1. Idaho has passed the most extreme anti-trans law in the nation, a bathroom ban. The second offense would be 5 years in jail, and the 4th offense could lead to life in prison due to Idaho's 3 strikes law. It now heads to Governor Brad Little's desk. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Idaho Passes Most Extreme Bathroom Ban In Nation, Creating Path To Life In Prison

JFC I've heard that Fetterman is considering supporting the SAVE act. It's a disaster of a bill that would create sweeping disenfranchisement. Whoever your senators are, I don't care, call them. I don't wanna hear if you think they definitely will or won't support this, take 3 minutes & call.

It took me months, about 495 rides, recovering from a shattered right foot and hacking a folding scooter, but I finally own a Nintendo Switch 2 using points obtained from Citi Bike. Afterwards, it left me questioning the very nature of work. For @aftermath.site. aftermath.site/switch-2-cit...

My Grueling Quest To Buy A Switch 2 By Riding Citi Bikes

After roughly 495 bike rides and interrupted by a broken foot, I have a Nintendo Switch 2 from riding Citi Bike points. Was that work?
