I also want to add that every single time ICE has physically hurt me, they have grabbed me by my chest. Most of my femme friends have said the same. I will not be surprised if / when we find out about twisted sexual assaults conducted by ICE agents with these gloves.

Wow. Proponents of the ICE taser gloves are openly saying that one reason they love the gloves is that they doesn’t leave any marks or proof that they were used, making it harder for people to sue when they’re shocked excessively.

I know you're not allowed to say this during the current debate, but the reason the left dominates academics, art, comedy, and music is that the right has stupid, discredited ideas, they're not funny, and dull resentment does not make for good art. No grand conspiracy required.

Susan Collins pulls into town in a bus full of her supporters; then they all get off the bus; and then she addresses the folks who were on the bus with her as if they were regular Mainers; and legacy media covers this, pretending it isn't deeply bizarre. (Notice the guys with cameras.) #MEpolitics

As we have record breaking heat wave after record breaking heat wave, it's comforting that our latest response to climate change has been to rush the construction of a thousand data centers that drink all our water and generate more CO2 than a couple industrial revolutions. JFC.

On Aug. 11, the contiguous U.S. set a record for min temps using the Climate Shift Index, with 82% of the lower 48 experiencing the largest spatial extent of overnight heat influenced by climate change (≥1). This will only become even more common and impactful if we continue to burn fossil fuels.

Graphic showing the Climate Shift Index for August 11, 2026 using data from the 18z GFS model for minimum temperatures. The graphic shows the change in likelihood due to climate change across the contiguous United States, which is called the Climate Shift Index. Many areas are seeing minimum temperatures being at least 1-5x more likely due to climate change. This tool is available at https://csi.climatecentral.org/climate-shift-index from Climate Central.

A recent survey found that 92% of U.S. adults have delayed or avoided medical care due to high costs. Meanwhile, a new study from Yale estimates that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year. If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have universal healthcare.

Two silly muppet-looking birds with wide mouths, flat heads, and round yellow eyes. The little chick is fluffy and scruffy with baby down.

Air conditioning is almost universal in the US and Japan — but not elsewhere. Many countries have been facing intense heat this summer, and with predictions of a strong El Niño on the way, next summer could be even hotter.

Horizontal bar chart of the share of households with air conditioning in 2025 where it compares adoption across countries and regions to highlight large differences. It shows very high prevalence in Japan (93%) and the United States (90%), high in China (79%), and much lower shares in Southeast Asia (29%), Europe (23%), and India (16%). Good. Now we need action. Tax fossil fuel giants to pay for firefighting helicopters. A cool space in every community. A maximum working temperature. And no new oil and gas extraction in the North Sea. We cannot negotiate with the science. www.bbc.co.uk/weather/arti...

UK weather: Burnham to chair Cobra meeting on extreme heat as temperatures surge again

The Government will meet to discuss this summer's record-breaking heat as the tally for days above 30C in the UK is broken.

The fact that the same Taylor Farms products sold at Walmart are packaged under different names and sold at Whole Foods proves that Jeff Bezos is scamming you into thinking you get superior produce a his far more pricey Whole Foods.
