Scumbags… Too many scumbags in positions of power in the world. Should the liberal minded simply shrug and say that’s the way it is, or should there be a concerted effort to understand the underlying mechanisms allowing dross to float to the top, and to start making changes at a systemic level.

I've thought for a while the problem Labour had was if they turned on Starmer, there was no-one able to replace him So it has transpired Burnham & Streeting have shown themselves to be less credible leaders than Dastardly & Muttley in the Wacky Races (One for the teenagers...)

So the plane is encountering a bit of turbulence and needs to be stabilised……..but ejecting the Captain right now is a pretty stupid idea.(especially when the rest of crew have no experience at altitude). Land the plane first, then have the debriefing.

So Kier Starmer may break under pressure from some of his cabinet and a handful of back benchers, but the culprits are the baying press and media who regardless of political bias just love to stoke political tension and jeopardy. The initial winners will be Reform, the real losers are everyone else.

Kier Starmer must stay, but double down on improving the optics. He and the cabinet should spend as much time as practicable exposing Farage’s lies and misinformation. Bring the heat to Reform, track and report on their failures in local government going forward. Call them out at every opportunity…
