Cinephiles: Critics back then dismissed Vertigo, Citizen Kane, The King of Comedy but our generation is too sophisticated and learned. No way we can drop a ball on a generational original film. Reality: Eddington and Digger derided and backlashed, and then praised by a counter backlash.

One of the most disconcerting moments of living in this timeline of the world in the U.S. is that A LOT of people in this country keep acting like there's a special line that needs to be crossed for fascism to *arrive.* The reality is that we are CURRENTLY living under Federal fascism. NOW.

I recently got Part 2 of DC Finest's Crisis on Infinite Earths collection, and seeing this panel from #5 reminds me that the appeal of these busy images filled with hundreds of characters isn't that far off from Martin Handford's "Where's Wally/Waldo" books.

seeing conservative men debate how to dress online is very funny. can't dress up or wear interesting casualwear bc you've made any visible interest in dress to be a sign of homosexuality. but you feel the need to dress better bc you've linked dress to respectability. a prison of your own making.

It was surreal discovering that Todd McFarlane got his start in the industry on Infinity Inc.: An artist who would go on to define the "90s comics" aesthetic, working on an inherently backwards-looking Roy Thomas "Golden Age legacy" comic. It's like a transitional fossil between different species.

it was smart of jacob geller to only post about what he did to his 50k followers on here instead of to his 1.5 million youtube subs or on his patreon. that way fewer people know about it and he limits the financial hit

Anyway, articles like this are not meant to be helpful or useful for anyone contemplating a decision between college or trade school. They are meant to make people who do not have to make that decision feel ... something. Enlightened? I'm not sure.

There are reasons other than net take-home pay that generations of American parents steered their kids toward college. I don't see how "go into construction!" is helpful unless paired with more robust worker protections and a true safety net, especially in right to work states.

i don't know the best time to opine about the possibility of rehabilitation and restorative justice and so on but the worst time is 5 minutes after one of your favs is outed doing something terrible
