Dear all, Helen passed away at 13:21 local time. Helen would not have wanted us to be sad for a long time. All they wanted was to be remembered. They looked forward to being rid of pain and to being at rest. Helen took great comfort in you, their friends and readers. pt. 1/2

So many important things are discussed at conferences. When international travel is dangerous & science is under threat & research funding is being slashed & we know how bad flying is for the climate & we have technology to make it happen, the fact that all conferences aren't hybrid is wild. 🧪

What is wild to me is that humans until industrialization would have two blocks of sleep. After a first sleep of some hours they would wake up and do stuff: visit friends, have sex, a small meal etc. And then they'd turn back in for a second longer sleep. So don't worry if you wake in the night.
