Too bad EPIC MRA (Bernie Porn) didn’t poll the Michigan primary. Since there is no party registration he didn’t trust voters to properly screen themselves.
funny post Bernie popularity thing that keeps happening over the years. wonder if someone has asked Bernie about it like are you familiar with Bernie Porn, you know, the pollster.
I mean in fact air travel has gotten a lot better since 1986 because it is both more affordable and you are much less likely to die in a plane crash
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
Regardless of how it turns out NO HE DIDN’T. It’s like saying I have more fingers on my left hand after counting 8 digits from left to right with a ring finger and a pinky still to report.
we really need to find a way to not die on every hill we come across letting a screenshot of a puzzle game spiral into a transphobic scandal is far too much does this energy work in person? is it ever successful?
I saw yesterday that some right-wing outlets were running stories about me, which I’m used to. But this time I’m going to say something about it, because these were framed to imply that I was aligned with their own transphobia. ⬇️
Something I'll never understand - if I want to make substantial enough changes to my house, it has to go through a neighbourhood consultation process, but someone on my block can buy a vehicle that significantly increases the chances one of my kids gets run over.
Which vehicles most endanger the drivers of other cars? Giant pickup trucks — and the Dodge Charger Source: www.iihs.org/news/detail/...
Yeah, it's pretty clear Ai is a productivity tool whose best use cases are by people with existing domain expertise. I think a lot of the slop, especially genai photos and videos, are a result of misalignment in economics. They're wasteful but are being subsidized to build market share.
I registered, linked a burner bank account, transferred the $25 bonus, and am never using it ever again.

Will Stancil's commitment to the Expected Value bit after four days (!) is certainly tenacious.

"When I derailed the train nobody died because there are many other trains that people might have conceivably used." yeah but they did die, they died and now they are dead because you killed them, you fucking death's mask frog voice mass-murdering Nazi prick you.
The longer this goes on the more I suspect that Mitch McConnell is worth more to the Dems alive and hidden. They have no incentive to confirm the likely truth: He's too sick to vote, but he won't retire.
I have to admit, the longer this goes the more I suspect the Democrats made a deal...
A good signal that Karen Bass neither rides transit nor knows anyone who does because this is close to last on the list of wants for people who rely on Metro. Faster service, more frequent headways, cleaner buses and trains, less disorder, etc. That’s what is needed. Not this dumb slop.
As Chair, I’ll build a long-term financial plan to make Metro fare-free. I’ve fought for a world-class transit system my entire career because public transit should create opportunity for everyone.

Will has been going off this all day. Look I would absolutely take $500k expected value any day, and heck I would take $50k EV over $25k sure, but I don’t expect other people to gamble like that.
No, the point is "I desperately need to pay 25k tomorrow and have absolutely no way to do it" is a pretty rare circumstance. In most instances, for most people, an expected value of 500k is better than accepting a 90% discount so you can pay off a bill.
Neither side in public safety debates is really incentivized to make much hay of this because it’s both extremely unflattering to cops and calling for more enforcement, but it’s a massive scandal that has killed thousands.
Cops measurably stopped enforcing traffic laws during COVID and never started again. We instantly lost over a decade of progress, and saw a huge increase in deadly/unsafe driving as a result.
Just looked at overnight travel between Southern and Northern California. There are now just TWO intercity overnight buses, one from LA to Sac via SJ, SF, and Oakland, and one from LA to Sac via the 99 and Tracy. And the buses are sold out tonight!
TIL that I literally live 4 blocks from a data center and had no idea until just now… Really feels like the answer here is just to make data centers pay their way for energy and water, but beyond that, don’t see what the big hubbub is about?
There are probably 2-3 million people living within 5 miles of one of the 70+ datacenters in NYC, which transact over a significant portion of the entire global economy. The DTCC data center at Brooklyn Army Terminal alone processes like $4.6 quadrillion (10^15) a year.
Also, Trump's economy is decidedly worse than Biden's economy, but Biden's economy was historically VERY strong, so Trump's economy is more "mediocre on some fronts" than "terrible on every front," which is what the public generally believes. I don't know what to say, these are objective facts.
Based on nearly every available measure the economy is doing okay. Not great but good-enough. Inflation is a little above target but honestly well below average for the 20th century.
The people that say “if you can’t afford to tip, don’t eat out” are absolutely encouraging me and many others to make more food at home or purchase meal kits. Meal kits reduce prep time and save on the sales tax as well.

Got one of those scam phone calls from United Healthcare trying to speak to me in Chinese. I asked if they could speak English because this is America and they just hung up.
Hot take: it doesn't matter whether Mitch McConnell is alive or not (I assume that he is alive). If Republicans want to be down a senator from now until January, let them. I do not understand people who want Beshear to take some sort of action here.
People on the left correctly recognize that the framing ("crime can't be going down, look at this horrible crime!") is nonsensical incendiary gibberish, partially because "violent criminals" is right-coded. But many people on the left refuse to do the same for poverty.
This is essentially "crime is always going up" but from the left. "You can't tell this young mother whose beautiful teenage girl was raped and murdered (by an immigrant, of course) that crime is going down, you heartless bastard" is just a straight-up refusal to engage with the issues.
Nobody is going to poor people and saying "You aren't poor." They are poor. We know they are poor. We don't like that they are poor. But for years the bulk of the American population has erroneously believed the economy is declining, in ways that it empirically has not been. That's a big mystery.

This project is on a high frequency transit corridor and shouldn’t require any parking at all, but some people would rather see people be homeless than not have a space to park their car. There should be no requirements to house cars when any person is unhoused.
Just to add this to debate on free car storage that went around in the last 24 hours. Here's a group of Nimbys protesting 100% affordable housing over parking. Free street parking. If there was no street parking or if we paid market prices maybe it's different. abc7.com/post/el-sere...
