I just read an argument to drop recycling in favour of landfills from a well funded magazine — Insane how you can pursue any argument just by cherrypicking facts and you get away with it because debates are based on drowning others with datapoints, instead of confronting coherent worldviews.

I keep reading people saying pacifism is bad because you need to fight and stuff. Come on! Pacifism was never putting the other cheek, but rather refusing to abuse others and being eager to discuss!

When I'm using coding agents and LLMs extensively in some tasks, I feel way more resistance to grappling with difficult, uneven problems in others. As if I get recalibrated to expect ease, effortlessness, velocity in everything. Not good! Curious how you deal with this, if you feel it too.
