Lougheed also helped create Kananaskis Country as a series of provincial parks for us to enjoy for free. The UCP now charge usage fees. In '76 he protected the Eastern Slopes from coal mining. The UCP gave it to foreign interests to mine. I suspect Premier Lougheed would be no fan of the UCP.

bears eat fascists@thorbites.bsky.social · 6d agoYikes, the amount of tanker aircraft assisting with the fire in Spokane is incredible - visible are 5 Canadair Scoopers and Super Scoopers, a Boeing 737, a Dehavilland tanker, at least three Sikorsky helicopters. There has also been a DC-10 tanker and now a DC-9 tanker. Just amazing coordination.

An officer reported other cops for using racist, sexist and homophobic slurs at work, filed an Internal Affairs complaint & submitted recordings of the other cops being bigoted as evidence b/c otherwise nothing would be done about it. He’s now charged with 16 felonies & could get 13 years in prison.
