Saw a movie about one of those farcical-but-serious episodes of Finnish history: the kidnapping of (former) president K. J. Ståhlberg and his wife Ester, who wouldn't be left behind, by hapless far-right goons. The movie was very much "inspired by a true story," so here's my version. A THREAD:
For me it's also that they're old, so they will almost have some problematic stuff that I've forgotten, for example EVERY SINGLE DAN SIMMONS-BOOK.

100%. For those unfamiliar, Van Halen had a line in their rider that essentially said “no brown M&Ms.” It was a way to see if the promoter had actually read the contract. They had a shitload of gear to tour with, so if they’re skipping one thing, it’s guaranteed they’re skipping something essential.

What else are you cheating out on? Why should I be bothered to go somewhere you couldn't be bothered to promote with a little of your own personality?

If transphobes cared about women's sports they wouldn't ally with people trying to wreck the WNBA and dismantle Title IX. In any given year, there are more Oscar winners than trans women in the NCAA. Nobody genuinely thinks they're a threat, the whole purpose is to erase trans people everywhere.

This was actually a worthy upgrade, holy shit. They went to the source and did a straight transfer from the MiniDV-files (and film negative for the last scene), when the DVD and Blu ray were from a film transfer. It now looks significantly better without any AI bullshit that was feared. 1/2

You think you're protected because you go as big as you can on racism, you spend years harassing the movement's perceived enemies, you even disavow your own sexuality. They'll still throw you in a cage over the tiniest disagreement already forgotten.
