Scottish exam results are coming tomorrow. The child seems excited? I am far too stressed.
Well this is a nice thing. My (unpublished as yet) novel has been longlisted for the #YeovilLiteraryPrize TA DA! It's been a busy month for my new alter ego Amelia Hope - she also just signed with some lovely agents at Curtis Brown. Hoping all this means it might get published...

Ahh … government wishing to avoid tax evasion by imposing onerous conditions that will encourage people previously of good will and behaviour to find ways not to have to engage with the process. Going against the basic principle of making the pro-social choice the easy choice.

Short version: UKG wants writers etc. to pay tax monthly and change our "projections" online every time we ... don't get paid regularly. BECAUSE WE ARE FREELANCERS.

Don’t ban kids using YouTube. Make YouTube behave like a broadcaster. Pay creators. Reinvest in the creative industries. Pay fair tax back into creators’ economies. Follow guidelines on fair usage and copyright. Play fair. It’s bigger than TV now. Make it behave like TV.
It appears my countrymen have arrived in the Americas and culturally appropriated a statue of George Washington.
Want to lift this up a bit because it highlights how the conversation around masculinity is centered around a lot of racialized assumptions as well.
