Groundworkers from NY to NC came to Michigan for GOTV to help score more big wins for the socialist project. We’re all rooting for @donavanmckinney.bsky.social and one of our own, Groundworker @313cgh.bsky.social, to emerge victorious tonight and further build the nationwide socialist pole.

Cori Bush losing again validates this, btw. Palestine is an issue that works in the left's favor but it isn't a cheat code. You still need to run good candidates, you still need to be strongest on the issues voters prioritize or ensure that they prioritize the issues that you're strongest on.
>primary voters don’t want to keep unconditionally arming Israel >its not their number one issue >theyre willing to look past disagreement on it if they like a candidate enough, or if they agree on more important issues >they aren’t particularly turned off by the socialist label >mrw
Check out our interview in CBS Chicago! "The city election is about how we address the financial crisis. Either we tax the rich and expand services working people need—or we cut services and raise fees on the people already paying too much. That's the choice. Which side are you on?"
"When is Chicago getting our Mamdani?" Variations of this question have been shared online by Chicagoans ever since the democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani was elected New York's mayor last November.
I think I've seen at least three mayoral candidates now say that we need to A) balance the budget, B) reduce property taxes, and C) hire more cops does math work differently where they are from than it does here
Alexi Giannoulias says: one thousand more Chicago cops, and bring back ShotSpotter www.reddit.com/r/chicago/co...
At our July Chapter Meeting, STL DSA voted to endorse a NO vote on Amendments 4 & 5. These two endorsements are in addition to our already endorsed candidates, Cori Bush and Jimmy Lappe. Early voting is open now and election days is Aug. 4!
Bad: Millennium Park Bike Station, Chicago's only public indoor bike parking facility, became police-only post-COVID. chi.streetsblog.org/2023/03/24/c... Awful: Its plaza is now locked, and the *outdoor* parking (I designed) is gone! There wasn't neatly enough bike parking last night. - JG
The Missouri Attorney General is threatening librarians with arrest over an LGBTQ+ story hour for kids, suggesting that a picture book about gay dinosaur dads is "pornography." The Secretary of State says he'll pull funding if the event happens, citing the state's new age verification law.
Trans women: interviews from Loyola. 75 bucks is 75 bucks
Fascinating what the social purpose of satire is these days
TikTok has incredible moderation team. Our InfoWars video about Multiple Horse Theory — the idea that there are many horses in the world and not just one — has been fully deemed misinformation and lost the formal appeals process. Confirmed by Larry Ellison: There is only one horse on Earth.
Kalen is a great urbanist organizer and hopefully soon to be CDSA endorsed 🤞
Excited to see progressive competitors enter the race for the 44th Ward. The ward doesn’t need to be served by an heir apparent but someone who represents the interests of this amazing, progressive neighborhood.
Hey all, my girlfriend could use some help. She had to take three weeks off work following getting her tonsils out and having to have emergency surgery following a complication, please chip in if you can (here’s a pic of her adorable cat Hummus for you) Venmo: @strawbs137 Cash App: $strawbs137
WTF. No e-scooters and soon no e-bikes. Turning Sheridan into a reckless car-brained freeway. 🤦🏻♂️🤬 #ZeroVision 🤦🏻♂️🤬 #CongestionPricingNow @leniann.bsky.social 🤷🏻 blockclubchicago.org/2026/07/26/e...
E-Scooters Are Now Blocked On Busy Stretch Of Sheridan Road In Edgewater
The city enacted geofencing on Sheridan Road that prevents e-scooters from being used due to safety concerns. Ald. Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth is working to get e-bikes restricted in the area, too.

I don’t think I like this tbh
E-scooters will no longer be able to be used on a busy stretch of Sheridan Road in Edgewater due to safety concerns, the city said. Edgewater's alderwoman is working to get e-bikes restricted in the area, too. blockclubchi.co/3RspHgx
This shit pisses me off, what does this accomplish besides making public places more hostile to enjoy for everyone
These cops at the 57th Street underpass were still there nearly six hours later when I passed through, and I was forced to open my bag full of groceries for an inspection before I could bike home.
It's somewhat remarkable and completely unfamiliar to the public outside of unions, but even most unions are much less democratic than DSA. Civic life is so diminished in this country.
a good example? DSA going from Zionist to Antizionist in the last six years. some call that 'entryism,' but what it really is, is democracy

There's a take going around pushing back about Democratic party politics being inaccessible compared to DSA, and that all you need to do is show up to a county party event. May I present to you the Cook County Democrats July calendar vs the Chicago DSA calendar (I'm a member of neither fwiw).

This is the expected, and dumbest, outcome. Passing over Georgia (the obvious choice for an early state) to pick South Carolina is not about empowering Black voters. It’s about keeping the Old Guard of the party in charge and marginalizing the left of the party.
BREAKING: WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats select South Carolina to lead off their party's 2028 presidential nominating schedule.
The party strikes back - putting it's most conservative, establishment-beholden and least nationally-relevant primary electorate first on the calendar

Fran Hong is going to get a shot at being governor of Wisconsin because none of your glup shittos, or even one our former glup shittos (Barnes) bothered to seriously campaign
